Our Story

Beginning of The Loft

Passion is what drives our purpose and why we exist today. Our passion is to serve the community, inspire and help people draw closer to one another and to God.

In 2019, Dana Beavers had the idea to expand her flower shop, Dana’s Flower, to get more storage space for her many flowers. But October 17th 2019 she suddenly changed her mind. That evening Dana was writing in her prayer journal and right then the Spirit of the Lord instructed and told her what to do with the property next door instead if she had the opportunity.

In 2020, the next door property was for sale and Dana didn’t hesitate. It was very clear to her that this was a God thing and what she needed to do. To serve the community and help people fight grief, addiction and recovery, but as a non profit coffee house. The community needed a place for not only to grab your daily cup of joy, but also to be the heart of the community for people to gather and feel safe.
Dana was already doing a grief group once a week at her flower shop, but this became so much bigger so fast. She is so passionate about helping others and committed to making a difference in our local – today she calls this business The Loft.

Our Founder
Dana Beavers

Dana is born and raised in Fayette Alabama, and she’s been living here her whole life. Before she started The Loft, she’s been active in the floral industry as a designer and owner of what is now Dana’s Flowers. In 1989, she received a certificate of completion for Floral Design at Auburn University and has won past awards for her floral design skills. In 2017 she became a Grief Recovery Specialist via The Grief Recovery Institute. Dana loves people and uses The Loft to bring joy to and back into people’s lives. She has a “little red chair” in her office and its always available to those that need someone to talk with about anything.
